Ingredients
- Chicken thighs1 Kg
- Whole yogurt3 tablespoons
- Sweet paprika2 teaspoons
- Coriander1 teaspoon
- Turmeric1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika1 teaspoon
- White onion1 u (150 g)
- Garlic1 teaspoon
- Cumin1 teaspoon
- Lemonto taste
- Fine saltto taste
- Ground cinnamonto taste
- Chili pepperto taste
Procedure
0. In a large bowl, mix the yogurt with all the spices, oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. You should obtain a fragrant, thick cream.
1. Cut the thighs into large, even pieces (about 7-10 cm, not too small). Immerse them in the marinade, mixing well with your hands or tongs. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
2. Skewer half a white onion at the base (flat side down, rounded side up), then alternate the marinated chicken pieces, stacking them tightly together. Top with the other half onion.
3. Bake on a vertical spit for about 50-60 minutes at 180-190°C, until golden brown. If your oven has a grill function, turn it on for the last 5-10 minutes for an irresistible crust.
4. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Using a sharp knife, slice the chicken vertically from the top, like a traditional kebab. Serve in a wrap, pita bread, or with rice and vegetables.
