  • 0. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for a few minutes. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the egg, softened butter, and milk with the yeast.
  • 1. Knead until the dough is smooth and homogeneous. Add a little flour if necessary if the dough is too sticky. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • 2. Roll out the risen dough on a lightly floured surface until it forms a rectangle about 1 cm thick. Spread the hazelnut cream evenly over the entire surface of the dough and, if desired, sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
  • 3. Roll the dough from the long side, forming a compact cylinder. Cut the roll into slices about 3 cm thick.
  • 4. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them slightly apart. Cover with a cloth and let rise for another 30-40 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • 5. Mix the powdered sugar with the milk until you get a smooth glaze. If you prefer a thicker consistency, add less milk. Once the rolls are baked, let them cool slightly and then pour the glaze over them.
