Questa zuppa calda è perfetta per calmare lo stomaco, idratare e riscaldare, con un tocco di zenzero che può aiutare anche a contrastare i sintomi del raffreddore.
Ingredients
- Chicken broth1 L
- Ground beef250 g
- Thai rice (or Jasmine)200 g
- Spring onion25 g
- Garlic1 clove
- Ginger1 teaspoon
- Fine saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
Procedure
0. Cook the rice: Place the rice in a pot and rinse it under running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
1. Start the soup: In a large pot, add the broth and bring to a boil. Add the garlic and ginger, then pour in the rinsed rice.
2. Cook the rice in the broth: Let it cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 30-40 minutes or until the rice becomes very soft and creamy.
3. Add the meat: Halfway through cooking, add the ground meat, breaking it up with a spoon. Continue cooking until the meat is cooked through and the rice has reached the desired consistency.
4. Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like, you can add a little soy sauce for flavor.

5. Finishing: Just before serving, add the sliced spring onion and a drizzle of sesame oil for an aromatic touch.
6. For a lighter version, use only vegetable broth and lean chicken. Add vegetables like spinach or diced carrots if you prefer a richer dish. For extra flavor and health benefits, you can add a little turmeric or black pepper.
